While root is not really required to install & run Total Recall, it may be required to enable two sided call recording, otherwise you will be stuck recording from the Mic (ie, only your side of the call). This is typically caused by your device simply not supporting "out of the box" call recording because the manufacturer either intentionally or accidentally disabled this when developing your device's OS. Other times, an OS update can break call recording as well. Keep in mind that Total Recall can record both sides of the call on MORE devices than any competing call recorder application.

This could happen for any number of reasons. Check to ensure the application was actually running. Also check to make sure you don't have any conflicting 3rd party apps isntalled, especially apps that play or record audio or handle calls. Keep running apps to a minimum to prevent low memory situations. Also, keep in mind that some network calls such as calls to your voicemail may not automatically record and may need to be manually recorded. VOIP/Skype type calls cannot be recorded by Total Recall. Finally, you should also run the application and from the main menu choose Options and check to see if there is a "Stop Recording" option - if so, select this as the call simply did not stop recording.

Nokia added a beep while recording calls for legal reasons. We have to find ways to remove the beep, which is why on some devices you will find some minor (but acceptable) audio loss, or a profile switch while recording.

On Android devices you can automatically or manually send recorded calls using the Share feature directly from the clips list, or by configuring the Auto Send settings.
