Midtown Madness 3 has a few gems that help it stand out. First is the gameplay itself. The cars all have separate physics that make them feel both varied and fun to play. The cars are easy to handle and responsive; even at high speeds they feel natural to use. The other highlight of Midtown Madness 3 is the atmosphere it has going on. While we’d always prefer an arcadey simulation over an actual simulation, the viewpoint is unique to Midtown Madness 3. The camera gives the impression you are actually driving down the street. In the same vein, the game’s soundtrack is another highlight, consisting of great music that feels reminiscent of the streets and the mood of San Francisco. The one downside of Midtown Madness 3 is the fact that there are no options for a trainer. The car sounds are generic and don’t feel like they belong in the world of Midtown Madness.
